In the U.S., during Alaska Airlines’ flight 1282, operated by a Boeing 737 Max 9 aircraft, the emergency exit door detached at an altitude of approximately 5,000 meters. Fortunately, the plane, carrying 171 passengers and six crew members, managed to make an emergency landing at Portland International Airport without any serious injuries. Of course, due to the door detachment, the belongings of many passengers were ejected due to the sudden change in pressure, including an iPhone.

After the incident, the items that fell from the plane started to be found by people in the vicinity. Seanathan Bates, an individual, announced on social media that he found an iPhone model on the roadside that fell from the Alaska Airlines’ Boeing 737 Max 9 aircraft at an altitude of 5,000 meters.

The most intriguing aspect here is the current condition of the iPhone that fell from such a high altitude. Looking at the images shared by Bates, there doesn’t seem to be the slightest damage to the device. In fact, it can be noted that the phone was in flight mode, mandatory for safety reasons during flights, and had a 44% charge. Additionally, it was confirmed that the smartphone belonged to a passenger on the plane through a $70 baggage claim acceptance email sent by Alaska Airlines.

After finding the iPhone, Seanathan Bates contacted the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and stated that the board informed him that this was the second phone found after the incident.
